Thailand Privilege, which most people still call the Elite visa, is different from every other option on this site. You are not proving eligibility, you are buying a membership. There is no age requirement, no income threshold, no money to season in a Thai bank and no annual trip to immigration.
For that you pay a substantial one off fee. Whether it is good value depends entirely on how much the alternative would actually cost you, and we will do that arithmetic with you honestly rather than steering you toward the biggest package.
Who it genuinely suits
- People under 50 who cannot use the retirement route and are not married to a Thai national.
- People whose wealth is real but awkward to evidence in the format immigration wants, which is more common than you would think.
- People who value never dealing with immigration paperwork more than they value the money.
- People who split their year between countries and want a visa that does not punish absence.
Who should not buy it
If you are over 50 with a pension, the retirement extension does the same job for a small fraction of the cost. If you work remotely for a foreign employer, the DTV is cheaper and now covers you properly. If you are married to a Thai national, the marriage route is far cheaper.
We have talked clients out of this visa more than once. The membership fee is not refundable and it is a lot of money to spend on convenience you could have had for less.
Frequently asked questions
Does it let me work in Thailand?
No. It is a long stay privilege, not a work authorisation. Some tiers assist with obtaining a work permit through related structures, but the visa alone does not grant the right to work. If working is the goal, look at the LTR or a business visa instead.
Do I still do 90 day reports?
Yes, address reporting still applies, and the membership concierge usually assists with it. What disappears is the annual extension application and the financial evidence behind it.
Is it a residency or a path to citizenship?
Neither. It is a long stay visa. It does not count toward permanent residency and it does not lead to citizenship, which is a misunderstanding that costs people a lot of money.
Considering Privilege?
Tell us your age and situation first. If a cheaper route does the same job, we will say so before you spend the membership fee.
