If you hold a Thai driving licence and you travel, an international driving permit issued here turns it into a document that rental desks and traffic police in many other countries will accept.
It is a translation and certification of the licence you already hold, not a licence in its own right, so you carry both.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a Thai licence first?
Yes. The international permit is issued against a valid Thai licence. If you do not have one yet, we handle that first and then the permit.
How long is it valid?
It has a limited validity and cannot outlast the underlying Thai licence. We time the two together so you are not renewing one every few months.
Travelling and want to drive?
