Renting a house makes sense for families, for anyone with a dog, and for people who have discovered that condo living in Pattaya means hearing your neighbours renovate at eight in the morning.
East Pattaya and Huay Yai give you the most space for the money. The trade off is that you need a car or a motorbike, and that the further out you go, the less walkable daily life becomes.
Frequently asked questions
Do houses come furnished?
Most long term rentals here are furnished to a reasonable standard. Unfurnished exists and is cheaper, but factor in the cost of furnishing a whole house before assuming it is the better deal.
Who maintains the pool and garden?
This should be written into the lease and frequently is not. In most arrangements the tenant covers routine pool chemicals and gardening, and the owner covers equipment failures. Get it specified.
