Almost everyone who lives in Pattaya ends up on two wheels. It is the fastest way around, it costs almost nothing, and the rental shop will hand you the keys without asking whether you can actually ride.
That last part is the problem. The typical foreign rider crash is not a dramatic high speed collision. It is a low speed loss of control in the first few weeks: too much front brake, a foot down on gravel, target fixation on the thing they were trying to avoid. All three are trainable in an afternoon.
What we actually teach
- Slow speed control, which is where most falls happen and where most riders were never taught anything.
- Braking properly, including how much front brake you can use and what happens on a wet painted road line.
- Where to look. Riders go where they look, and beginners look at the thing they fear.
- Reading Thai traffic: how left turns work here, how to handle a U turn lane, and where the risk actually sits.
- Night riding and rain, which is when most tourists get hurt.
Then the licence
Once you can ride, we take you through the Thai motorbike licence. Riding legally matters more than most people realise, because an insurance company that discovers you had no valid licence has an easy reason to decline the whole claim.
Frequently asked questions
I have never ridden anything. Is that a problem?
No, it is the most common starting point for our students. The first session is entirely on a closed field at walking pace, and nobody goes on a road until they are ready.
Automatic scooter or manual bike?
Most people in Pattaya ride an automatic scooter and that is what we start with. If you want to ride a manual motorbike we teach clutch control and gear changes as a separate progression.
Do you provide the motorbike?
Yes, training bikes are provided. If you have already bought your own and want to learn on it, that also works and is often better, because you learn the machine you will actually ride.
Before you rent that scooter
Spend an afternoon on our training ground first. Message us on LINE and we will book you in this week.
